2. Main field of activities of your institution:

The Ukrainian Academy of Banking is a major educational institution within the structure of the National Bank of Ukraine. It is a state-owned specialized higher educational institution training specialists for the banking and financial sphere. Today the Academy trains experts ("Bachelor", "Specialist", "Master") in the following specialities: “Finance”, ”Banking”, ”Accounting and audit”, ”Management”, “International Economics”, ”Law”, “Economic Cybernetics”, “Financial and Economic security”. According to its status our university, besides educational activity, is engaged in scientific work, improvement of professional skills of banks’ and other financial institutions’ personnel, post-graduate training. The Academy has become the center of research and methodical complex with multi-level training, the structure of which also includes banking institutes of the National Bank’s system. The direct ties with the National Bank are conducive to the organization of educational process, scientific development and development of our university as a whole.

Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University (Lugansk, Ukraine)

2. Main field of activities of your institution: educational, methodological and scientific work, international cooperation.

The University comprises 22 institutes and faculties. The University holds a total of 28100 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels on 124 specialties (widest range in Ukraine), including Electrical Power Systems and International Economics. The University welcomes foreign students, which accounted for a total of 1120 students. It also has 1440 faculty members including 184 professors. Since 2003 lifelong learning programs have been developed at our university within the Institute for Lifelong Learning and Distance Education. 3. Information about the intended project:

Our university are willing to actively participate in the preparation of the project application on Higher Education and Society themes blocks (Development of partnerships with businesses and Development of lifelong learning in society at large).

Title of project: Development of distance education in the sphere of management of Electrical Power Systems as part of lifelong learning through development of partnerships with businesses.

Project idea 1. Creating an effective professional re-training for older people

TNPU trains professionals mainly in pedagogics (numerous fields). In addition to that also in the following specialities: organisation of tourist services, sociology, journalism, applied mathematics, engineering and computer graphics, computer technologies in management and training, theatre art.

One of the main activities of the university is organizing and conducting systematic research. The main tasks of scientific research: development of basic, exploratory and applied research in priority areas of modern science, closely related to the preparation of professionals, scientific and pedagogical staff; widespread use of intellectual University potential for the development of science, culture and scientific progress.
