Kharkiv National Medical University is looking for partners

2. Main field of activities of your institution:

Kharkiv National Medical University provides education services connected to obtaining higher education at the level of qualification requirements for a junior specialist, bachelor, specialist, master with a specialization in:

For specialists: “General Medicine”, “Paediatrics”, “Public Health and Preventive Medicine”, “Dentistry”.

For Master’s students: “Nursing”.

For Bachelor’s students: “Nursing”, “Laboratory Diagnosis”.

For junior specialists: “Nursing”, “Midwifery” and “General Medicine”.

Postgraduate education is provided in postgraduate course in 35 specialities and in clinical residency in 25 specialities.

Institutes and Faculties

The University comprises 7 faculties, Educational Research Institute for Postgraduate Training at Kharkiv National Medical University, Medical College, Centre for Gender Education of KhNMU (CGE); 2 research institutes: Research Institute of Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Diseases, Ukrainian Institute of Clinical Genetics; Central research laboratory, 5 problem laboratories, Medical training and research unit of Kharkiv National Medical University “University Dental Centre”, Scientific-Practical Medical Centre of KhNMU. At the University, the Committee on Ethics and Bioethics has been functioning since 2001.

KhNMU has been a member of the International Association of Universities (under the aegis of UNESCO) since 1998; it is added to the register of medical universities of the World Health Organization (Avicenna Directories).

3. Information about the intended TEMPUS project:

The title of the project proposal is “Gender Education and Medicine” (GEM)

4. Project proposal/description:

Project goals and objectives:

- implementation of the latest achievements in medicine to gender education methodology;

- methodological interdisciplinary substantiation of medical aspects of gender equality in education;

- elaboration of teaching and learning manuals in medical aspects of gender equality in education;

- elaboration of special courses in medical aspects of gender equality in education, and teaching them to medical and pedagogical students;

- chief administrators’ training;

- training for lecturers of pedagogical and medical higher education institutions;

- conducting international conferences on medical aspects of gender equality in education;

- cross-disciplinary probations for teachers and students of the Consortium partner institutions of higher education.

Deliverables:

Acquisition of skills for implementation of the medical attainments to achieve gender equality in education.

Suggestions to the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine on medical aspects of gender equality in education (cross-disciplinary reflection of medical aspects of gender equality in education).

Publishing and distribution of teaching and learning manuals on medical aspects of gender equality in education.
