University is situated in the center of Bukhara, which is known as a historical city on the Great Silk Road. Until now, BSU has participated in 9 TEMPUS and 7 Erasmus Mundus projects, so it is considered as having one of leading experience in this field in Uzbekistan. After the independence was proclaimed the republic was faced with the necessity of creating national educational system with new realities that meets world standards and government coped with this task. Recently has been adopted new law of the Republic of Uzbekistan about sustaining reformulated, effective learning of foreign languages (with accent on English) in the country. It has become indispensible and overriding task meant to express today’s immediate and future interests of the government of welfare issue. It is with due regard of new law adopted as well as with regard to the progressive European experience that we should reform Foreign language teaching for Specific Purposes. The aim of our project is to transform the focus, methodology, content and recourses (both technical and pedagogical) of foreign language teaching for specific purposes. As ready-made formulas or models show the interests of former USSR are proving to be of little effect and non-competent in the fast developing world and inhibiting future progress in upbringing young initiative generation. In this perspective, new battery of strategies must be exerted to achieve successful results in foreign language teaching for specific purposes. The project aims on incorporating new information communicative technologies with sophisticated and reformulated pedagogical approach in teaching foreign languages for specific purposes. It is equally important to base the reforms on the mentality of our people characterised by spiritual and cultural values, educational culture. In this perspective institutions of European Union countries will be helpful with sustaining to form and define stages, and taking concrete measures necessary to reach the goal set. Objectives and activities 1. Sustain with one month course of teacher Development course consisted of 10 foreign Language teachers in European Institutions. 2. Foreign Language Teaching reforms in 7 domains of science with duration of 4 academic years. Fields encompass: 1. Information Communicative Technologies department students. 2.Economics department students 3. Law and policy 4.Medicine 5.Engineering 6. Irrigation and farming 7. Chemistry and physics. 3. Creating Information recourse centre for English learning students and teachers. By the end of the project • Effective curriculum based on ICT and new Pedagogical approaches will be achieved in the field of FLT for specific purposes. • Self-propelling teacher development process will be maintained by the end of the project. • Young generation with operational command of the language will be able to share their ideas and researches in science and Arts with young scholars of the World that helps to form holistical view of XXI century Target groups and stakerholders (enterprises, student organisations, for SM – Ministry of Higher and Secondary Speciliased Education of Uzbekistan) Students, HEIs, teachers
