The Last Erasmus Mundus Call is over

2013 Annual Call of Erasmus Mundus Programme is over.  Selection results are available on the National Tempus Office web-site: http://www.tempus.org.ua/uk/osvitni-programy-es-dlja-universytetiv-ta-studentiv/erazmus-mundus-2009-2013.html and Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency  (EACEA) web-site: http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus_mundus/programme/about_erasmus_mundus_en.php.   Under Erasmus Mundus Action 1, 87 Ukrainians were selected to study at EU universities in the master courses and 7 Ukrainians to participate in PhD courses.  More information about selection results can be found at NTO-Ukraine web-site: http://www.tempus.org.ua/uk/osvitni-programy-es-dlja-universytetiv-ta-studentiv/erazmus-mundus-2009-2013/975-94-ukrajinci-buli-obrani-dla-navchanna-v-jevropi-za-programoju-jerazmus-mundus.html.

Under Erasmus Mundus – Partnership (Action 2) 9 projects for ENPI East were selected where 25 Ukrainian universities take part.

Project acronyms and the name of coordinating university from the EU are given below:

  1. HUMERIA – Tallinn University, Estonia
  2. EMBER – Universidad de Sevilla, Spain
  3. ACTIVE – Warsaw University of Technology, Poland
  4. IANUS II – Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania
  5. INFINITY – Technical University of Lisbon, Faculty of Architecture, Portugal
  6. MEDEA – Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse , France
  7. EMINENCE II – Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland
  8. EFFORT – Alexander Technological Educational Institution of Thessaloniki , Greece
  9. HERMES – National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece

In the near future each project is to launch a web-site to provide information on mobility programmes, terms and conditions of participation, deadlines etc.

The following Ukrainian universities will take part in Erasmus Mundus Partnerships selected for funding by EACEA:

  • National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute"
  • National Aviation University, Kyiv
  • National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI”, Kyiv
  • National University of „Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, Kyiv
  • Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies
  • Pavlo Tychyna Uman’ State Pedagogical University
  • Sevastopol National Technical University
  • Sumy State University
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
  • Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy, Poltava
  • Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ivano-Frankivsk
  • Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Luhansk
  • Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University
  • Zaporizhzhya National University
  • Zhytomyr State Technological University.

Over the next 4 years Ukrainian students (bachelor, master and PhD), university teachers  and staff – 299 participants in total are to take part in  academic mobility programmes in universities of Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom together with participants from other ENPI East countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.

Bukovinian State Medical University from Chernivtsy, Donetsk State University of Management,  Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University, Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy from Poltava, Lviv Academy of Commerce, Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University from Ivano-Frankivsk, Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University from Luhansk,  Zhytomyr State Technological University have joined Erasmus Mundus Partnerships  for  the first time. Two universities – Donetsk National Technical University and Crimean University for the Humanities, Yalta  take part in two partnerships simultaneously.

This year partnerships are built on different principles: there are traditional multidisciplinary consortia, as well as partnerships that specialize in a certain area: the humanities (project HUMERIA); medicine and health care (project MEDEA); technology (project ACTIVE).

There are no Ukrainian participants among winners of Erasmus Mundus Action 3 projects.

 

Erasmus Mundus is an EU educational  programme focusing on international cooperation and facilitation of academic mobility among university students, teachers and administrative staff.  The program is comprised of three Actions: 1. Joint Erasmus Mundus  Master and PhD Courses; 2. Erasmus Mundus Partnerships; 3. Promotion of Higher Education. Starting from 2014, Erasmus Mundus programme along other educational programmes of the EU will be transformed to umbrella programme “Erasmus +”.
