Seminar for ECTS Coordinators “Introduction of European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)” |
The Seminar was held on October 18, 2013, at the Institute of Higher Education of National Academy of Pedagogical Science of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as NAPSU). It was conducted within the joint initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Tempus Office in Ukraine and NAPSU. The initiative was launched started last year and includes a series of events dedicated to implementation of Bologna Process instruments in Ukraine: annual conference, specialized seminars for ECTS coordinators, in-service training courses for university managers. The event convened 55 representatives of state and private universities in Ukraine including 12 Vice-Rectors, representatives of NAPSU, National Academy of Science of Ukraine, All-Ukraine Student Council with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) and National Tempus Office in Ukraine. Representatives of HERE Team delivered specialized sessions within the Seminar: Volodymyr Luhovyi, First Vice-President of NAPSU, Yuriy Rashkevych, Vice-Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, Vadym Zakharchenko, Vice-Rector of Odessa National Maritime Academy, Andriy Stavytskyy, ECTS Coordinator of the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv. The following sessions were conducted: - Competence based approach in curricula development (Tuning methodology, examples of Euro Bachelor and Euro Master programmes, focus on soft competences); - European qualification meta-frameworks, state of play and main objectives towards implementation of the National Qualification Framework in Ukraine, development of the national educational standards; - Curricula development within implementation of the National Qualification Framework and ECTS; - Implementation of ECTS: accumulation of credits and learning outcomes; - Development of the ECTS information package; Diploma Supplement. According to seminar participants, such seminars are important for development of mutual understanding as to the implementation of the Bologna process instruments in higher education in Ukraine. In the end of the seminar, HERE experts presented participants with certificates. The HERE Team in Ukraine was created in 2010 and includes the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Evhen Sulima among its members. Establishment of the HERE team was enforced by the decision of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency.
