Tempus IV - sixth call for proposals results published

The selection results of the sixth Call for Proposals to be funded from Tempus IV have now been finalised. 171 proposals have been recommended for funding from the Tempus budget. These proposals were evaluated by independent experts against the selection and award criteria published in the 6th Call. The short-list of projects, based on the experts' quality assessment, was sent to the EU Delegations, National Tempus Offices and relevant National Authorities in the Tempus Partner Countries for consultation, to ensure that they were in line with national higher education policies in the Partner Countries. The responses from the consultation process were analysed and taken into consideration, along with the results of the experts' evaluation, as well as other considerations to which a priority was given in the Call, namely to encourage Structural Measures and multi-country projects. Lastly, the selection committee had to ensure a geographic balance across the Tempus Partner Countries.

It should be noted that the grant amount finally awarded may be inferior to the one requested in the application. This information notice does not entitle the applicants to a grant from the Executive Agency (EACEA). The Agency will be legally bound, only when its authorized representative has signed the Grant Agreement.

Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (ЕАСЕА) announced the results of 6th Call. Among 171 projects recommended for funding under 2013 Call, 33 projects are to be implemented with participation of Ukrainian universities, NGOs, companies, associations, research institutions – nearly 200 Ukrainian partners will be involved. This year, Ukrainian has won more projects than in the previous calls. New 33 projects are to complement 61 projects that are being already implemented in Ukraine under the fourth phase of the Tempus programme.

Following the results of the 6th Call, the total of 70 higher educational institutions will take part in Tempus projects implementation; some institutions with the status of a national university have won four or more Tempus projects, namely: National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (6 projects), Odessa National Polytechnic University (5 projects), Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (5 projects), M.E. Zhukovsky National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” (4 projects), Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics (4 projects), Taurida National V.I. Vernadsky University (4 projects), V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (4 projects), Khmelnytsky National University (4 projects). Our warmest and sincere greetings to the winners!

Among 33 recommended for funding by EACEA, 26 are joint projects and 7 – structural measures. From the total number of 2013 Call projects, 8 are national projects where Ukraine is the single recipient of technical aid, while other 25 projects are multi-country projects where Ukrainian partners are to cooperate not only with the EU universities, but also with representatives of Eastern Partnership universities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, as well as Russia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan; in many projects the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is a partner.
