Bashkortostan State Medical University, Ufa, Russia

2. Main field of activities of your institution:

Bashkortostan State Medical University is an educational and research institution. We have over 6000 medical students and over 800 full-time faculty at eight different schools: General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Social Work, Nursing and Preventative Medicine. Our University teaches the following fields: prefreshmen training (one year), undergraduate training (5-6 years), postgraduate training (from several months to 6 years), internship, clinical residentship, degree enhancement and PhD programs.

The University is famous for its world-class centers for mini-invasive surgery and endoscopy, plastic abdominal surgery and kidney transplantation, many of our professors have received prestigious awards for research, including awards for the development of the novel drugs.

3. Previous international experience:

Bashkortostan State Medical University has no experience in Tempus projects.

However Our University has an International Office from 2003, which supervises students from abroad, provides academic mobility for students and academic stuff, works for implement of international experience in University education and research. We have students from 20 countries, every year we have 2-3 exchange programs for academic stuff and students. We actively invite professors from abroad to give lectures. We are looking forward to international academic exchange, joint research, clinical trials and other activities which will make life happier and work more efficient

4. Information about the intended TEMPUS project:

Project proposal/description:

Bashkortostan State Medical University is very interested in international collaboration to bring our teaching and academic process closer to the best European standards.

We would be very pleased to participate in Tempus projects. That would be an important step forward for our University and Medical Health Care System.
