Donetsk National University (DNU) is powerful scientific and higher educational establishment of the East part of Ukraine which has IV grade accreditation.

International department TEMPUS REAP CENTRE interested to be a consortium member in TEMPUS projects (submission call for 2012).

Main field of activities of your institution:

Main fields of DNU and TEMPUS REAP CENTRE activities are multifaceted and include educational, methodological and scientific activities, as well as international cooperation. It offers academic programmes at all levels including undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate courses and post-doctoral studies.

Information about the intended TEMPUS project:

The main aim of project is to improve existing educational system and bring it closer to European standards and quality insurance in education.

Work in following national priorities (Type of project (JP, SM):

For Joint Project (JP): ”Curricular Reform”, “Higher Education and Society”, and for Structural Measures (SM): «Governance Reform» in «University Management and Student Services», «Introduction of Quality Assurance», «Institutional and Financial Autonomy and Accountability» and « Higher Education and Society » in «Knowledge Triangle: Education-Innovation Research», «Qualification Frameworks».

Previous international experience:

The University has established close relation with 40 Universities around the world. Donetsk National University is a member of European University Association and two international organisations: the Eurasian Organization and AIMOS, a participant of various European scientific and education programmes: TEMPUS, the Sixth and Seventh Framework EU and International Fund «Renaissance». In 2004, it was amongst the first to sign the Magma Charta of European Universities and looks forward to working with MCU as a partner.

DNU has a strong international collaboration in different academic and training programmess. They are successfully working towards modernisation and enhancement of quality in higher education, expanding effective cooperation in accordance with the programmes priorities of TEMPUS and other international educational and scientific projects.

TACIS SCM 2003 training project «Programme of development structural and complementary measures for quality assurance»: 2004 – 2006: Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Universities of Sunderland (Great Britain), Aristotle and Macedonia (Greece); Donetsk National University (Ukraine). Budget: 75 655, 000 Euro.

TACIS TEMPUS SM_SCM-T0116A06-2006 (UA) ”Quality assurance of education in Ukraine” (2006 - 2008): Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Universities of Sunderland (Great Britain), Aristotle and Macedonia (Greece), Donetsk National University. Budget: 121 055, 000 Euro.

TACIS TEMPUS CD_JEP-24009-2003 «Flexible independent learning on the base of computing system management» 2004 – 2008: Irkutsk State University (Russia), Universities of Sunderland (Great Britain), Bari (Italy), Donetsk National University (Ukraine). Budget: 484 800, 000 Euro.

TACIS TEMPUS UM_JEP-25086-2004 «Development of interactive cooperation mechanism between universities and employers»: 2006 – 2009: Universities of Sunderland (Great Britain), Cordoba (Spain), Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, RTC (Great Britain), Donetsk National University (Ukraine). Budget: 475 000, 000 Euro.

TACIS TEMPUS CD_JEP 10278-96 project «Development of new speciality on Master level «Econometrics»: 1996 – 1999: Universities of Sunderland (Great Britain), Emden (Germany), Vienna (Austria), Donetsk National University (Ukraine). Budget: 660 000, 540 ECU.

British Council REAP UKR/395/41/0011 project (DFID): 1999 – 2001: University of Sunderland (Great Britain), Donetsk National University (Ukraine). Budget: 127 000, 000 GBP.
