The Tempus Information Day in Autonomous Republic of Crimea |
29 October 2010. The Tempus Information Day in Autonomous Republic of Crimea was organised by the National Tempus Office (NTO) in Ukraine in close cooperation with the EU Delegation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University, and was hosted by the latter. About 72 participants from Simferopol, Yalta, Feodosia, Sevastopol, Donetsk of public and private Universities represented by academia and students attended the event. The event was commenced by the Vice-Rector of the Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University Prof. Victor Shulgin, who highlighted the importance of the Tempus program for higher education modernization in Ukraine and Tempus programme impact on the development of the University over the course of 10 Tempus projects. NTO in Ukraine Coordinator Olena Orzhel gave a comprehensive overview of the programme and key recommendations on how to work on the preparation of the competitive project proposal. NTO Director Svitlana Shytikova informed about the results and key recommendations under the previous call. The main aim of the seminar was to inform the participants about the new fourth call for proposals under the Tempus IV programme as well as to draw attention to the novelties of the call: e.g. modified National Priorities, e-application form, partnerships, etc. In addition to detailed discussions on Tempus IV programme, the participants were updated by Olena Orzhel, NTO Coordinator, on other EU-funded programmes in the field of education open to Ukraine such as Erasmus Mundus and Jean Monnet. Representatives from Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University Ms. Aurika Murava-Sereda and the Crimea Humanitarian University Ms. Olga Chuyeva shared best practices of their institutions’ active participation in Tempus and Erasmus Mundus and gave several recommendations.
